Job Overview

Amgen is seeking a Global HEOR Economic Modelling Senior Associate to support the company’s global market access and health economics strategy.

The role focuses on building health economic models and analyzing clinical and real-world data to evaluate the value of therapies for healthcare decision-makers such as Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies and payers.

The candidate will collaborate closely with Global HEOR Product Leads to ensure economic evidence aligns with product strategy across the drug development lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

1. Health Economic Model Development

  • Design and build global core health economic models for therapies in development and commercialization.

  • Develop models using methodologies such as:

    • Cost-effectiveness models

    • Cost-utility models

    • Budget impact models

    • Cost minimization models

  • Implement model structures including Markov models and partitioned survival models.


2. Statistical & Economic Analysis

  • Conduct statistical analyses using clinical trial data and real-world evidence.

  • Generate inputs for models including:

    • Treatment effect estimates

    • Survival extrapolation

    • Resource utilization

    • Health utility measurements


3. Evidence Synthesis

  • Conduct advanced evidence synthesis techniques including:

    • Network Meta-Analysis (NMA)

    • Matching-Adjusted Indirect Comparisons (MAIC)

  • Support comparative effectiveness evaluation between therapies.


4. Sensitivity & Scenario Analysis

  • Perform model validation through:

    • Deterministic sensitivity analysis

    • Probabilistic sensitivity analysis

    • Scenario testing

  • Evaluate model robustness and uncertainty.


5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare key deliverables including:

    • Economic model structures

    • Programmed models

    • Technical reports

    • User guides and presentation materials

  • Support HTA submissions and payer evidence generation.


Required Skills

Technical Skills

  • Experience in health economic modeling and HEOR analytics

  • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis capabilities

  • Experience with modeling tools such as:

    • Microsoft Excel

    • R or Python

    • SAS or STATA

Domain Knowledge

  • Understanding of HTA frameworks, payer requirements, and healthcare economic evaluation

  • Knowledge of clinical trial data analysis and real-world evidence generation


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HTA submissions or market access strategies

  • Expertise in NMA, MAIC, and comparative effectiveness analysis

  • Familiarity with AI-based tools to improve modeling and analytics workflows
