Job Summary
UCLA Health is seeking a Per Diem Anesthesia Technician to support surgical operations in the Westwood Main Operating Room. In this high-impact, fast-paced role, you will assist anesthesiologists with patient monitoring setup, invasive line preparation, and advanced OR equipment handling including lasers, video systems, and cell-saving procedures. If you're technically skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate about patient care, join one of the nation’s top academic medical centers.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment according to safety standards
Assist with invasive line setups for patient monitoring
Perform intraoperative support including cell saver procedures
Set up and operate laser and video equipment per surgical requirements
Support surgical staff with equipment turnover and coordination
Document activities and assist with clerical tasks assigned by OR supervisors
Ensure compliance with equipment protocols and anesthesiologist preferences
Required Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in a surgical/OR support or anesthesia technician role
Knowledge of operating room protocols and patient safety procedures
Hands-on experience with anesthesia, laser, and patient monitoring equipment
Ability to work independently during evening, weekend, and overnight shifts
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Certification as an Anesthesia Technician preferred
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant hospital or surgical support experience (preferred)
