Role Overview
The Area Medical Advisor – Specialty will provide high-level scientific and medical expertise to support the organization’s medical affairs strategy across the assigned region. The role involves engaging with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and external experts to communicate scientific data and support evidence-based medical decision-making.

This position also contributes to medical education initiatives, scientific engagement activities, research collaborations, and the development of regional medical strategies aligned with brand and therapeutic area objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific Engagement and Medical Communication

  • Provide scientific and technical expertise to healthcare professionals, key external experts, and key opinion leaders.

  • Deliver accurate and compliant medical information related to therapeutic areas and company products.

Healthcare Professional Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare practitioners, medical specialists, and academic experts within the assigned region.

  • Support scientific engagement activities in accordance with medical plans and ethical promotional guidelines.

Medical Education and Scientific Events

  • Plan, organize, and conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, scientific meetings, workshops, symposia, and speaker programs.

  • Deliver high-quality scientific presentations aligned with approved product information and regulatory standards.

Scientific Knowledge and Therapeutic Expertise

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas within the specialty division, including clinical data, treatment guidelines, and product information.

  • Ensure that all scientific communication is compliant with approved product labeling and regulatory guidelines.

Medical Strategy and Brand Support

  • Provide medical insights and scientific input to support the development and execution of regional brand strategies.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, regulatory affairs, and clinical research.

Clinical Research and Field Studies

  • Support feasibility assessments for clinical research sites and observational studies.

  • Assist with the development of study concepts, research proposals, data collection frameworks, and monitoring processes.

Pharmacovigilance and Safety Reporting

  • Support pharmacovigilance processes by identifying and reporting adverse events in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.

  • Work closely with safety teams to strengthen pharmacovigilance practices within the specialty division.

Compliance and Ethical Standards

  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, internal standard operating procedures (SOPs), and international guidelines such as ICH-GCP.

  • Maintain compliance with scientific engagement policies and pharmaceutical promotional codes.

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification: MBBS degree with a postgraduate medical qualification.

  • Preferred Qualification: Postgraduate specialization in Pharmacology, Public Health, or related medical discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably within Medical Affairs or specialty therapeutic areas.

  • Experience presenting scientific topics at medical conferences, educational programs, or healthcare professional meetings.

  • Familiarity with clinical research principles, ICH-GCP guidelines, and pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including marketing, regulatory, and clinical research departments.
