Role Overview

The Assay Biologist will execute and support cell-based and biochemical assays across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality, reproducible data while meeting project timelines. This role is critical to supporting drug discovery and development programs through accurate assay development and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist research scientists in planning and executing molecular and cellular laboratory experiments.

  • Perform cell-based assays including luminescence, fluorescence, FRET, radio assays, and other related techniques.

  • Conduct biochemical assays and specialized techniques such as TR-FRET, HTRF, AlphaScreen, ELISA, Luminex, and luminescence-based cytokine estimation assays.

  • Work with human primary cells and tissue samples, perform flow cytometry, immune-phenotyping, RT-PCR, and Western blot analysis as required.

  • Maintain rigorous assay quality control standards and adhere to laboratory SOPs.

  • Analyze and present data using Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across technical domains to ensure integrated project delivery.

  • Adhere to environment, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, completing all mandatory safety trainings.

Educational Qualification

  • M.Sc in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related fields.

Technical / Functional Skills

  • Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques.

  • Experience in designing, executing, and troubleshooting biochemical and cell-based assays.

  • Knowledge of automated liquid handling systems is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with assay QC parameters and data integrity standards.

  • Excellent pipetting and lab technique proficiency.

Behavioral Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration within multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously.

  • Flexibility and willingness to contribute across different assay platforms.
