Key Responsibilities

Clinical Data Management Leadership

  • Manage and support a team of clinical data management professionals responsible for database delivery and clinical data operations.
  • Oversee team sizes ranging from 4 to 8+ members, depending on project and business requirements.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of databases and clinical data outputs aligned with sponsor expectations.

Resource Planning & Team Management

  • Define staffing requirements and coordinate resource allocation across multiple projects.
  • Monitor staff utilization and workload distribution.
  • Assess employee competency and align responsibilities with capability.
  • Conduct:
    • Goal setting
    • Performance reviews
    • Competency evaluations
    • Career development planning
  • Support promotion, retention, and performance improvement decisions.

Project Delivery & Operational Oversight

  • Ensure project milestones related to clinical data management are delivered on time and with high quality.
  • Oversee project deliverables, scope execution, timelines, and operational performance.
  • Support project-level customer interactions and delivery governance.

Technical Review & Data Management Oversight

  • Provide expert review and leadership for clinical data management deliverables, including:
    • Database design and setup oversight
    • Data validation definition review
    • Clinical data programming guidance
    • Database quality assurance
    • Data management documentation review
  • Support technical problem-solving and operational efficiency improvements.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with:
    • Internal project teams
    • Clinical operations teams
    • Sponsors / customers
    • Cross-functional stakeholders
  • Participate in:
    • Customer meetings
    • Project requirement discussions
    • Strategic planning conversations
    • Proposal discussions
    • Scope review activities
  • Provide operational input for proposals and project planning.

Scope, Budget & Risk Management

  • Understand project scope, assumptions, and budget requirements.
  • Identify out-of-scope activities and contribute to effort/cost estimation.
  • Escalate delivery risks and operational concerns where necessary.

Process Improvement & Technology Adoption

  • Support implementation of new:
    • Clinical data processes
    • Operational workflows
    • Technology improvements
    • Data management tools
  • Drive efficiency and quality improvement initiatives.

Training, Compliance & Staff Development

  • Ensure team compliance with:
    • SOPs
    • Work instructions
    • Project scope requirements

Required Qualifications

Educational Qualification
