Position Overview
Labcorp is seeking Clinical Laboratory Technologists to join our DNA Paternity testing team in Burlington, NC. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with high-complexity testing, including DNA preparation and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), for government, private, third-party, immigration, and cell line authentication clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced clinical lab professionals and new graduates, with full training provided.
Key Responsibilities
Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures following departmental SOPs.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality.
Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.
Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
Accurately report test results to ensure quality patient care.
Conduct preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
Maintain laboratory inventory and replenish bench supplies as needed.
Assist with specimen processing and workflow tasks when required.
Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to proper PPE protocols.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent degree that meets local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).
No prior clinical laboratory experience required; new graduates welcome.
ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong computer proficiency; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
High attention to detail, with strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.
Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts as business needs require.
