Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking Clinical Laboratory Technologists to join our DNA Paternity testing team in Burlington, NC. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with high-complexity testing, including DNA preparation and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction), for government, private, third-party, immigration, and cell line authentication clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced clinical lab professionals and new graduates, with full training provided.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

  • Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures following departmental SOPs.

  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality.

  • Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving.

  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.

  • Accurately report test results to ensure quality patient care.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.

  • Maintain laboratory inventory and replenish bench supplies as needed.

  • Assist with specimen processing and workflow tasks when required.

  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to proper PPE protocols.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent degree that meets local regulatory requirements (CLIA & State).

  • No prior clinical laboratory experience required; new graduates welcome.

  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

  • Strong computer proficiency; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternative shifts as business needs require.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
