Role Overview
As a Clinical Medical Manager, you will lead clinical strategy and field execution for Novo Nordisk’s pipeline in India. You will provide scientific leadership, engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) and investigators, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize trial design, site performance, and early portfolio development. This role requires strong expertise in clinical operations, strategic medical planning, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead scientific strategy for clinical trial excellence and translate strategy into field execution.

  • Partner with Clinical Operations, Therapy Area Leads, and Trial Managers on study planning, start-up, recruitment, and retention strategies.

  • Provide scientific inputs to portfolio review, site feasibility, and country allocation decisions.

  • Engage with investigators and site staff to optimize trial methodologies and address recruitment or retention challenges.

  • Serve as the local medical subject matter expert on product protocols, addressing site queries and supporting early clinical data discussions.

  • Monitor trial performance, proactively identifying and resolving scientific or operational issues.

  • Support scientific knowledge building for Clinical Operations teams and introduce Medical Affairs colleagues to KOLs in new therapy areas.

  • Contribute to mapping clinical care pathways to facilitate recruitment and retention.

  • Maintain a strong presence in assigned therapy areas, establishing trust with investigators and external stakeholders.

  • Travel periodically to clinical trial sites within India and the Hyderabad Head Office as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Medical Degree (M.B.B.S) with M.D. in a relevant discipline.

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in clinical or medical affairs strategic roles in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory requirements, and pharmaceutical drug development.

  • Proven ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel to clinical trial sites and head office as per business needs.

  • Experience leveraging AI and data-driven tools in clinical strategy is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and embrace change.
