Role Summary
The Clinical Operations Manager will oversee a team of clinical operations professionals, ensuring high-quality project delivery, staff development, and client satisfaction. This role combines leadership, project oversight, and strategic involvement in business development activities. The Manager may also contribute directly to clinical projects and support new business opportunities through bids and client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery Management & Oversight:

  • Monitor team and project performance to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality deliverables.

  • Manage and oversee project resourcing, staff assignments, and quality control of deliverables.

  • Serve as liaison between project teams, clients, and management, ensuring communication of performance metrics and project status.

  • Contribute as a senior-level project team member when required, preparing status reports and attending project meetings.

  • Develop action plans with project leadership to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Staff Development & Performance Management:

  • Provide guidance and technical support to staff to ensure successful execution of project tasks.

  • Monitor and evaluate productivity and quality metrics of direct reports; implement corrective actions when needed.

  • Recruit, retain, and develop skilled and motivated team members through mentoring, training, and career development initiatives.

  • Participate in staff performance reviews and salary assessments according to corporate standards.

Client Management & Business Development:

  • Support client relationships and business development initiatives as required.

  • Contribute to project bids, proposals, and client presentations.

  • Coordinate client or account activities for department or function as necessary.

  • Act on client feedback and implement improvements in operational processes.

Operations & Compliance:

  • Champion the implementation of Parexel SOPs, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain compliance with ICH guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), regulatory requirements, and sponsor SOPs.

  • Ensure a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented work environment.

  • Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, training documentation, and expense claims.

  • Travel as required to support project needs or client meetings.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, or other health-related discipline; advanced degrees preferred.

  • 7–12 years of experience in clinical research or clinical operations, including team management responsibilities.

  • Strong understanding of clinical trials processes, project management, and regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and motivate teams effectively.

  • Proven experience in client engagement, project resourcing, and operational oversight.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; competency in local languages preferred.

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in clinical data management systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with GCP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory agency expectations.
