About the Role

Syneos Health is seeking a Clinical Scientist to join its Clinical Surveillance & Training (CST) team. This role focuses on ensuring endpoint quality, patient eligibility oversight, data integrity, and trial success across global clinical research programs. The position combines scientific expertise, clinical research knowledge, training, and analytics to support high-quality clinical trial execution.

Key Responsibilities

Rater Training & Endpoint Quality

  • Design and deliver scientifically grounded rater training programs.

  • Ensure consistent and high-quality endpoint assessments across study sites.

  • Reduce assessment variability and improve data reliability.

Patient Eligibility Review

  • Conduct comprehensive eligibility reviews.

  • Provide scientific oversight to ensure appropriate patient selection.

  • Minimize protocol deviations and patient safety risks.

Clinical Data Analysis & Surveillance

  • Analyze clinical and endpoint data to identify trends and variability.

  • Detect potential risks affecting study quality and outcomes.

  • Translate findings into actionable recommendations for study teams.

Protocol & Study Design Support

  • Review clinical study protocols.

  • Provide guidance on endpoint strategy and assessment scale selection.

  • Support study design feasibility evaluations.

Scientific Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with sponsors, clinical operations, and medical teams.

  • Identify study risks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • Contribute to maintaining study integrity and regulatory confidence.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology

  • PsyD (Doctor of Psychology)

  • MD Psychiatry

  • PhD in Neuropsychology

  • Other Doctoral-Level Degrees Relevant to CNS or Therapeutic Area

Experience:

  • Moderate to extensive clinical experience with patients in relevant therapeutic areas.

  • Experience in Clinical Research, CRO, or Pharmaceutical Industry preferred.

  • Experience with psychiatric and neuropsychiatric assessments.
