A leading global healthcare consulting organization is seeking an experienced Coder – Profee Multispecialty E/M (IP/OP) to join its healthcare operations team. This role is designed for medical coding professionals with hands-on experience in professional fee coding, multispecialty evaluation and management (E/M) coding, inpatient and outpatient documentation review, and healthcare reimbursement processes.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately reviewing clinical documentation, assigning standardized medical codes, and ensuring compliance with payer, client, and industry coding standards while maintaining productivity and quality benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately translate patient diagnoses, procedures, and clinical documentation into standardized ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Perform professional fee (Profee) multispecialty E/M coding for inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) cases according to established coding guidelines and client requirements.
  • Review medical records across multiple specialties to ensure accurate coding and compliant claim submission.
  • Complete assigned coding volumes within specified turnaround times while maintaining productivity expectations.
  • Follow internal coding quality standards and client-specific documentation guidelines.
  • Maintain monthly coding performance with 95% or higher coding accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Team Leads and Quality Analysts for performance reviews, coding audits, and workflow feedback.
  • Participate in weekly quality assurance discussions, coding review meetings, and team collaboration sessions.
  • Work independently while effectively contributing within a collaborative coding environment.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with organizational information security policies.
  • Report data security incidents or compliance concerns through designated reporting channels.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Paramedical Sciences, Healthcare, or related medical fields
  • 1–2 years of professional medical coding experience
  • Strong expertise in:
    • ICD-10-CM coding
    • CPT coding conventions
    • HCPCS coding
    • Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding
    • Professional fee (Profee) coding
    • Inpatient (IP) coding
    • Outpatient (OP) coding
    • Emergency department coding
    • Radiology coding exposure
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately interpret complex clinical records
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain coding speed, quality, and precision in high-volume workflows

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following additional expertise will be preferred:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office
  • Experience using coding platforms such as:
    • 3M Encoder
    • TruCode
    • Optum Encoder
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) / Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems including:
    • EPIC
    • Cerner
  • Exposure to multiple coding specialties including:
    • Emergency Department (ED)
    • Physician E/M coding
    • Inpatient coding
    • Outpatient multispecialty coding
