Role Overview

The Consultant Radiologist will deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services and provide expert radiological interpretation to support clinical decision-making. The role includes advanced imaging reporting, multidisciplinary collaboration, supervision of junior radiologists, and participation in quality assurance initiatives.

This opportunity is suited for experienced radiologists seeking a leadership role in a high-volume, multi-specialty hospital environment.

Educational Qualification

  • MD or DNB in Radiology from a recognized institution

  • Valid registration with National Medical Commission (NMC) or relevant State Medical Council

Experience Required

  • 6–15 years of post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiology

  • Expertise in cross-sectional imaging (CT and MRI)

  • Experience in Ultrasound, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy reporting

  • Prior experience in a tertiary care or teaching hospital preferred

  • Exposure to multidisciplinary clinical coordination desirable

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Imaging & Reporting

  • Interpret and report diagnostic imaging studies including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Fluoroscopy (as per specialization)

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and clinically relevant radiology reports

  • Provide imaging-based clinical consultation to referring physicians

  • Support emergency and critical care imaging services

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings

  • Provide imaging inputs for oncology, neurology, orthopedics, cardiology, and other specialty discussions

  • Collaborate closely with clinicians to optimize patient management pathways

Quality Assurance & Patient Safety

  • Maintain high standards of diagnostic accuracy and reporting quality

  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and national regulatory guidelines

  • Participate in clinical audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and imaging best practices

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise junior radiologists, residents, and technical staff

  • Support departmental teaching activities and case discussions

  • Contribute to protocol optimization and workflow efficiency

  • Strong diagnostic expertise in cross-sectional and conventional imaging

  • In-depth knowledge of radiation safety and regulatory standards
