Job Overview

Roche is seeking a visionary Digital Biomarker Science & Technology Lead – Neuroscience to advance sensor-based digital biomarker solutions for neurology. This role is part of the Digital Biomarker (dBM) and Remote Patient Management (RPM) Chapter within Roche Information Solutions, focusing on leveraging mobile technologies, wearables, and sensor-based data to improve clinical research, patient outcomes, and regulatory acceptance of novel digital endpoints.

This position is ideal for experienced life sciences professionals with a strong scientific, clinical, and regulatory background in neuroscience, digital health, and biomarker development. The role combines scientific thought leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic product management to shape the future of digital neurology solutions.


About Roche Digital Biomarkers & RPM

Roche’s dBM & RPM teams develop innovative digital health and remote monitoring solutions that integrate mobile technologies, wearable devices, and advanced analytics for clinical trials and healthcare delivery. The team partners with biopharma, research institutes, clinicians, patients, and regulatory authorities to develop scientifically validated digital endpoints that improve disease monitoring, drug development, and patient care in neurology, diabetes, and other chronic diseases.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership & Product Vision

  • Define and drive the scientific product vision for digital biomarker solutions in neurology, ensuring alignment with clinical trial and healthcare needs.

  • Act as a scientific product owner for digital biomarker solutions addressing disease understanding, drug development, regulatory submissions, clinical trial design, and clinical care.

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to design, develop, and implement digital biomarker solutions, from conceptualization to regulatory and clinical acceptance.

  • Oversee end-to-end scientific product research, development, and roadmap execution.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate with Business Product Managers, internal teams, and external partners to leverage data insights and customer feedback for product development.

  • Build and maintain networks with key opinion leaders, academic collaborators, and industry experts in neuroscience.

  • Promote acceptance of sensor-based endpoints within the scientific community, regulators, and patient advocacy groups.

  • Represent Roche in pre-sales discussions, scientific conferences, and publications.

Regulatory & Clinical Strategy

  • Drive regulatory strategies for digital endpoint endorsement, qualification, and integration in clinical trials.

  • Provide scientific guidance on digital biomarker implementation to improve clinical trial participant selection, endpoint measurement, and clinical care applications.

  • Author high-impact publications, posters, and white papers to communicate scientific and clinical insights.

Innovation & Digital Health Expertise

  • Advise on clinical use scenarios leveraging sensor data to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery efficiency.

  • Evaluate existing digital biomarker approaches, identify gaps, and develop novel digital outcome measures.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence across internal teams and external networks.


Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. or equivalent in Life Sciences, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceuticals, digital health, or medtech.

  • Proven track record in digital biomarker development, sensor data analytics, and neuroscience clinical trials.

  • Demonstrated experience in senior stakeholder management and external collaborations.

  • Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and experience presenting at scientific conferences.

  • Prior clinical experience in chronic disease management and neuroscience (e.g., Parkinson’s, Huntington’s, Multiple Sclerosis).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead matrix teams, foster collaboration, and apply empowering leadership practices.

  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and processes for digital health and biomarker endpoints.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease drug development and associated clinical endpoints.

  • Experience with digital outcome measure development and FDA/EMA regulatory interactions.

  • Exposure to sensor-based technologies and digital health solution implementation in clinical trials.
