Expert Clinical Data Scientist – Novartis (Mumbai/Hyderabad, India)
Job Summary:
Novartis is hiring an Expert Clinical Data Scientist to lead data management, clinical data governance, and database programming deliverables across global clinical studies. Based in Mumbai or Hyderabad, this hybrid role demands experience in high-quality data review, SAE reconciliation, and protocol-based data design, aligning with Good Clinical Practices (GCP). Key Responsibilities:
Lead clinical data management across assigned trials, acting as Trial Data Manager when needed
Manage data load, transfer, and ensure compliance with NCDS standards
Perform data management activities including DHPs, DRPs, and UAT during study start-up
Conduct ongoing review of clinical study data and manage SAE reconciliation
Deliver high-quality DAP for Phases I–IV clinical studies
Generate status reports for CTT meetings and support junior trial staff
Develop training content and lead initiatives for process improvement and standardization
Participate in regulatory compliance activities and ensure readiness for audits
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Life Sciences, Data Science, or related field
Proven experience in clinical data management, preferably in pharma/biotech
Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
Deep understanding of data quality, governance, and protocol-based data design
Experience with DAP, UAT, DRP, and global CDM processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in data management platforms, listings generation, and GCP compliance
