Role Overview

LabCorp is seeking Histology Professionals to join our Pathology laboratory at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, Milwaukee, WI. This role is ideal for candidates looking to advance their career in clinical laboratory science while contributing to quality patient care.

Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (for external candidates)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM (flexible arrangements can be discussed)


Key Responsibilities

  • Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.

  • Produce histopathological slides of surgical specimens using a microtome.

  • Properly embed and orient surgical tissue specimens.

  • Perform immunohistochemical (IHC) and special staining procedures.

  • Operate, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on manual and automated lab instruments.

  • Prepare reagents and stains for routine and special procedures.

  • Record equipment logs, test results, and quality control data accurately.

  • Adhere to laboratory SOPs, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.

  • Document and troubleshoot problems that may affect test performance.

  • Deliver timely and accurate test results to support patient care.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent meeting CLIA & State requirements.

  • Histology and/or ASCP certifications preferred.

  • Previous histology experience preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with routine histology procedures, tissue embedding, and lab equipment.

  • IHC experience is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work in high-volume environments.

  • Ability to read labels and documents accurately.

  • Must pass standardized color vision test.
