Job Overview:

Sutter Health is seeking an Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist III specializing in Oncology/Med Surg at our California Pacific Medical Center Van Ness location in San Francisco, CA. This role involves delivering patient-centered pharmaceutical care through medication preparation, education, and distribution to ensure safe, effective, and efficient therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret physician orders, ensuring safe medication dispensing and therapeutic compatibility.
  • Monitor drug therapies and recommend interventions to optimize patient care.
  • Mentor and guide pharmacy technicians, students, and interns to build their knowledge and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EHR.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local drug laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience, with PGY-1 residency preferred.
  • Certifications: Licensed Pharmacist (PHARMD) or Registered Pharmacist (PHARMR), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) for code response.
  • Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and laws; proficient in EHR and EPIC systems; excellent communication and organizational skills.
