Job Title: Lead Expert – Scientific Writer

Job Summary

A leading global pharmaceutical company is hiring a Lead Expert – Scientific Writer for their Global Scientific Communications Content Hub in Bangalore, India. This full-time, on-site position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop high-quality medical communication content across therapy areas such as Oncology, Neurology, Fertility, and Cardio-metabolic diseases. Candidates must have a strong background in medical writing, stakeholder management, and cross-functional project leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality scientific and medical communication content, including publications, congress materials, and educational materials.

  • Independently lead medium to high complexity content projects and review outputs of junior writers for scientific accuracy and strategic alignment.

  • Conduct content development meetings with authors and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for assigned therapy areas and guide junior writers.

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across global medical units.

  • Ensure efficient workload management, status reporting, and adherence to deadlines.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Scientific Communications Content Hub.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.Sc., PhD, MBBS, or equivalent) in Science, Medicine, or related field.

  • Minimum 9 years of professional experience in medical writing, medical affairs, or clinical research in the Pharma/Biotech industry or agency setting.

  • Demonstrated expertise in scientific writing across various content types and therapeutic areas.

  • Strong stakeholder management and project leadership skills.

  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication abilities.

  • Familiarity with global pharmaceutical business trends and scientific communication best practices.

  • Experience managing international, cross-functional projects.


Preferred Skills

  • Therapeutic knowledge in Oncology, Neurology, Immunology, Fertility, or Cardio-metabolic diseases.

  • Strong awareness of pharmaceutical industry developments and communication trends.
