Job Summary

Abbott is hiring a Medical Advisor in Mumbai, a pivotal role within the Medical Affairs function that supports Phase III & IV clinical research, regulatory reporting, and safety surveillance. This position is ideal for a healthcare or life sciences professional looking to grow in clinical operations and medical strategy in a dynamic pharmaceutical environment. You’ll work under limited supervision, applying deep subject matter knowledge to support drug development, trial execution, and medical stakeholder engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, direction, and execution of Phase III & IV clinical trials and data collection activities

  • Contribute to clinical protocol development and ensure timely final report completion

  • Identify and recruit clinical investigators; negotiate trial design and costs

  • Monitor adherence to protocols and track study progression and completion

  • Lead adverse event reporting processes and monitor safety responsibilities

  • Coordinate regulatory report submissions and ensure compliance

  • Supervise investigator-initiated studies and group clinical collaborations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners under licensing agreements


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Medical Sciences, Pharmacology, or related field

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in clinical research or medical affairs

  • Hands-on experience with Phase III & IV trials, trial monitoring, and regulatory compliance

  • Familiarity with adverse event reporting and pharmacovigilance practices

  • Ability to interpret clinical protocols and manage trial timelines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with investigators and regulatory teams

  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
