Job Overview

We are hiring a Medical Contact Center Senior Specialist to support global pharmacovigilance and medical information operations. This role is responsible for handling medical information queries, adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, product quality complaints, and general medical inquiries received through the Medical Contact Center.

The position requires strong knowledge of drug safety processes, regulatory compliance, and medical communication, along with the ability to guide junior associates and ensure high-quality data processing in line with global regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Contact Center & Safety Operations

  • Receive, document, and report Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs/SAEs) received via phone, email, fax, or other communication channels within regulatory timelines.

  • Execute drug safety data management processes, including call intake, call dialogue documentation, peer review, and case follow-up activities.

  • Manage inbound and outbound medical calls while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and professionalism.


Quality, Training & Process Support

  • Assume ownership of the quality and accuracy of safety and medical data processed.

  • Guide and support junior associates in handling voice calls and safety-related activities, as required.

  • Create, update, and maintain training materials based on procedural, system, and regulatory updates.

  • Conduct training sessions and evaluate training effectiveness.

  • Support ongoing quality control (QC) activities, reconciliation of data from multiple sources, and tracking of key operational metrics.


Compliance & Collaboration

  • Ensure adherence to internal SOPs, work instructions, and global regulatory requirements.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Pharmacovigilance practices, ICH-GCP guidelines, and regulatory reporting standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support smooth Medical Contact Center operations.


Qualifications

Education (Minimum Requirement)

One of the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or Medical Sciences

  • Associate degree with 6–7 years of relevant industry experience

Relevant and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.


Experience Required

  • Minimum 4–7 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry

  • Hands-on experience in drug safety / pharmacovigilance, including:

    • Processing AE/SAE reports

    • Writing case narratives and generating queries

    • Working with safety databases

    • Exposure to regulatory submissions

  • Relevant background in Medical Affairs, Clinical Data Management, Clinical Data Entry, Regulatory Affairs, or Quality Assurance is acceptable

  • Experience handling medical contact center or call center operations is preferred


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate medical information accurately

  • Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance regulations and safety reporting requirements

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision

  • Strong teamwork and mentoring skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Chemistry, or Life Sciences

  • Prior experience in medical contact center or healthcare call center operations
