Job Title: Medical Science Liaison (MSL) / Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) – Oncology
Location: Northern California (preferably San Francisco)

We are currently seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Senior MSL to join our team. This field-based position is ideal for someone with a strong clinical and scientific background in oncology and genomic testing, who is eager to educate healthcare providers on Tempus assays and technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support commercial and educational objectives by serving as a regional expert on Tempus oncology assays, promoting the exchange of clinical, scientific, and technical information with regional KOLs and physicians.
  • Facilitate education for healthcare providers (KOLs, community physicians, medical directors, HCPs) regarding Tempus oncology products through both in-person and virtual presentations.
  • Provide internal scientific education in collaboration with the Learning & Development team.
  • Attend and report on key medical conferences and meetings, providing detailed synopses of impactful abstracts, posters, and oral presentations.
  • Share market intelligence and continuously update internal stakeholders on relevant medical and scientific advancements.

Required Skills:

  • Fundamental understanding of molecular oncology and patient management algorithms.
  • Established relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in oncology.
  • Working knowledge of genomic laboratory-developed testing (LDT) and familiarity with regulations like CLIA-88, CAP, and the Sunshine Act (2013).
  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to communicate scientific topics effectively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication and collaborative skills, with the ability to educate and train both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with an ownership mindset, able to work under tight deadlines and deliver results.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Education and Experience:

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSN, BSN).
  • Basic understanding of oncology required; basic understanding of molecular testing strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of MSL experience in diagnostics, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries.
