Job Overview

Baxter is seeking a highly motivated Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to join its Medical Affairs team in Gurgaon, India. This field-based role focuses on scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, evidence-based medical communication, and strategic insight generation to support Baxter’s medical and business objectives.

The Medical Scientific Liaison will play a critical role in translating clinical evidence into clinical practice, strengthening Baxter’s scientific presence in the healthcare community, and supporting internal teams with therapeutic expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute medical strategies for Baxter’s therapeutic solutions while aligning with regional and local business objectives.

  • Engage healthcare professionals through scientific discussions, clinical evidence sharing, and educational initiatives to support appropriate product use and improved patient outcomes.

  • Gather and analyze medical insights from healthcare professionals to inform internal strategies and support evidence generation initiatives.

  • Support internal stakeholders by delivering scientific training to commercial, market access, and cross-functional teams.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and medical experts.

  • Plan and facilitate scientific advisory boards, roundtable discussions, and speaker development programs to strengthen scientific engagement.

  • Drive evidence-generation initiatives including real-world evidence studies and investigator-initiated research projects.

  • Provide medical expertise in reviewing promotional materials, grants, and cross-functional medical activities to ensure compliance.

  • Act as a scientific gatekeeper ensuring all activities meet regulatory, ethical, and company compliance standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning and medical communication initiatives.

Educational Qualifications

  • MBBS or Master’s / PhD in Life Sciences

  • Pharmacy degree or equivalent healthcare qualification may also be considered.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Market Access, or Medical Scientific Liaison roles within a pharmaceutical or medical device company.

  • Experience in therapeutic areas such as anesthesia, surgical care, or ICU/critical care environments is considered an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong scientific knowledge and the ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities to manage multiple cross-functional requests.

  • High level of professional communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a field-based role and manage stakeholder engagement effectively.

  • Strong business acumen with an agile and proactive mindset.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required for scientific engagement, conferences, and cross-regional collaboration.
