Overview:
Novartis is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to lead high-impact scientific engagement with medical experts and stakeholders, contributing directly to clinical strategy, real-world evidence generation, and patient access. This field-based position plays a pivotal role in transforming clinical practice by enabling informed decision-making through strategic scientific exchanges, identifying data generation opportunities, and supporting integrated medical strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a scientific expert and strategic partner, leveraging insights for product strategy, medical planning, and launch excellence.

  • Identify key unmet needs, data gaps, and opportunities for Real-World Evidence (RWE), precision medicine, and clinical improvement.

  • Map and engage external stakeholders using tailored, flexible engagement strategies and personalized communication.

  • Lead scientific education events, respond to unsolicited medical information requests compliantly, and deliver the right evidence at the right time.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HEOR, Market Access, Clinical Research) to strengthen healthcare system impact.

  • Support Novartis Clinical Trials and contribute to Managed Access Programs (MAPs), as applicable.

  • Drive innovation in stakeholder engagement using digital platforms and analytics tools.

  • Maintain compliance with Ethics and Compliance Professional Practices Policy (P3) and company procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in health or life sciences (PharmD, PhD, MD preferred).

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a medical function in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Proven understanding of healthcare systems, research protocols, and relevant regulatory frameworks.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with fluency in English.

  • Ability to work in dynamic field-based environments and multifunctional teams.

  • Proficiency with digital tools and stakeholder mapping/CRM systems.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Exhibits high personal integrity and commitment to patient-centered values.
