About the Role

We are hiring a Medical Surveillance Specialist I to support clinical research programs through continuous monitoring and medical evaluation of clinical laboratory data. This role is ideal for professionals with strong laboratory, life sciences, or healthcare backgrounds who are experienced in medical surveillance and clinical data interpretation. You will play a key role in ensuring patient safety, protocol compliance, and effective communication between investigator sites, laboratories, and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily monitoring and evaluation of clinical laboratory results from sponsor-designated central laboratories.

  • Analyze laboratory data at defined intervals using EDC and data management systems.

  • Conduct preliminary reviews of lab results against protocol-specific reference ranges, identifying clinically significant trends or abnormalities.

  • Compare current and historical laboratory values to assess meaningful increases or decreases.

  • Liaise with investigator sites to obtain additional clinical context when required and communicate findings to the project team.

  • Serve as a key interface between Medical Services, central laboratories, and cross-functional project teams.

  • Identify potential safety signals or laboratory trends and escalate findings to Medical Advisors in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with central laboratory personnel to ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of subject laboratory data.

  • Support project setup activities under the guidance of the Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist.

  • Participate in project team meetings and contribute to ongoing study discussions.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical laboratory practices through continuing education and medical seminars.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Allied Health Sciences, including but not limited to:

    • Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology

    • Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Physiotherapy

    • Medical (Allopathy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda) or Dentistry

  • 2–6 years of total relevant experience, with a minimum of 2.5 years in medical surveillance (mandatory).

  • Strong ability to interpret and integrate scientific and laboratory data from multiple sources.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in clinical data systems, word processing, and data management tools.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, investigators, and external stakeholders.
