The Manager, Lab Support role at Syneos Health focuses on leading and supervising a team of technical staff in a regulated laboratory environment, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and quality standards are met. Below is a summary of the responsibilities and qualifications for this position:


Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Plan, organize, and monitor team activities to align with organizational goals.
  • Supervise and evaluate team performance, productivity, and compliance.
  • Coach, mentor, and oversee development plans for direct reports, including performance reviews and training.

Operational Management:

  • Implement and optimize procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Oversee daily operations, including workforce planning, prioritization, and scheduling.
  • Participate in drafting, reviewing, and revising SOPs and regulatory processes.

Compliance and Audits:

  • Ensure team adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections, client audits, and response processes.
  • Maintain quality control and ensure consistency across team outputs.

Communication and Representation:

  • Serve as the primary point of communication within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Provide updates on work plans, policies, projects, and results to management.
  • Represent the unit in consultations and external discussions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor team performance to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze challenges and recommend alternative solutions to operational issues.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred (relevant certifications considered).
  • Minimum requirement: experience managing direct reports.
  • Experience in a regulatory or laboratory environment is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including workforce planning and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence, persuade, and convey critical information effectively.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English required).

Other Requirements:

  • Travel as necessary (approximately 10%).
  • Experience managing technical staff in a regulated environment preferred.
