Nurse Practitioner – Oncology (Atascadero, CA)
Job Summary:
UCLA Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hematology/Oncology clinic in Atascadero, California. In this career-defining role, you’ll work closely with physicians, fellows, and the medical director to provide independent clinical assessment and care management for oncology patients. Key Responsibilities:
Provide advanced clinical assessment and management for Hematology/Oncology patients
Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and the Medical Director
Implement Standardized Procedures (SPs) and practice independently under collaborative protocols
Monitor treatment plans, adjust therapies, and manage follow-up care
Deliver patient education and emotional support for patients and families
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, hospital policies, and safety guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Valid California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
National NP certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC)
Minimum 2–5 years of nurse practitioner experience, preferably in oncology or hematology
Strong understanding of cancer treatment protocols and oncology medications
Excellent clinical judgment, autonomy, and patient care planning skills
Demonstrated ability to function independently in a multidisciplinary care team
