Job Overview
A global life sciences commercialization organization is seeking a results-driven Oncology Sales Representative to support the launch of a newly approved targeted therapy for lung cancer. This field-based role focuses on promoting oncology products within an assigned geographic territory, building strategic relationships with healthcare providers, and delivering clinical value through scientific engagement and product education.

The ideal candidate will possess strong oncology product knowledge, territory management expertise, and the ability to communicate complex clinical data to healthcare professionals. This role requires collaboration with oncologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare teams to improve treatment awareness and patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Sales and Market Development

  • Promote newly approved oncology therapies to oncology practices within the assigned territory.

  • Develop and execute territory business plans to achieve or exceed sales objectives.

  • Analyze territory data to identify market opportunities and optimize performance.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of product positioning, competitive landscape, and disease state developments.

Healthcare Provider Engagement and Clinical Education

  • Conduct face-to-face interactions with oncologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and office staff.

  • Educate healthcare providers on product indications, safety profiles, and therapeutic benefits.

  • Communicate clinical data and scientific information to support appropriate patient use.

  • Provide information on patient support programs and treatment services.

Customer Relationship and Account Management

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with physicians and key opinion leaders.

  • Utilize customer relationship management systems for account planning and call documentation.

  • Deliver high levels of customer service and stakeholder engagement.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Product Expertise

  • Collaborate with internal teams to mobilize resources and support territory initiatives.

  • Complete ongoing training to maintain expertise in oncology disease states and product knowledge.

  • Adapt to evolving oncology treatment advances and market dynamics.

Territory Operations and Travel Requirements

  • Travel extensively to hospitals, clinics, and medical offices within the territory.

  • Participate in medical meetings and professional events, including occasional weekend engagements.

  • Manage scheduling, reporting, and territory logistics effectively.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution required.

  • Preferred academic background in business, life sciences, or clinical disciplines.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare sales experience.

  • At least 1 year of oncology sales experience with understanding of integrated oncology networks.

  • Demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

  • Proven territory management and healthcare provider engagement experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of oncology disease areas and clinical product positioning.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with healthcare professionals.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and implement strategic initiatives.
