Job Overview
A leading life sciences commercialization organization is seeking a highly motivated Oncology Sales Representative to support the launch of a newly approved targeted therapy for lung cancer. This field-based position is responsible for promoting oncology products to healthcare providers within an assigned territory, building strategic relationships, and driving product adoption through scientific engagement and clinical education.

The role requires strong expertise in oncology disease areas, product positioning, and healthcare provider engagement. The successful candidate will collaborate with oncologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare teams to communicate clinical value and improve patient access to innovative cancer therapies.

Key Responsibilities

Territory Sales and Market Development

  • Promote newly approved oncology therapies to oncology practices within the assigned territory.

  • Develop and execute strategic territory plans to achieve or exceed sales targets.

  • Build, manage, and maintain strong professional relationships with healthcare providers and key opinion leaders.

  • Analyze territory performance data to identify growth opportunities and optimize market presence.

Healthcare Provider Engagement and Clinical Education

  • Conduct face-to-face interactions with oncologists, oncology nurses, pharmacists, and healthcare staff.

  • Provide scientific and clinical information on product indications, safety, and therapeutic benefits.

  • Educate healthcare professionals on patient support programs and treatment options.

  • Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding oncology disease states, treatment guidelines, and competitive landscape.

Customer Relationship and Account Management

  • Utilize customer relationship management systems for call planning, reporting, and account management.

  • Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure consistent stakeholder engagement.

  • Support account planning initiatives and maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Product Expertise

  • Collaborate with internal teams and mobilize resources to support territory objectives.

  • Complete required training on disease state knowledge and product positioning.

  • Adapt to advancements in oncology treatments and emerging clinical data.

Territory Operations and Travel

  • Travel extensively to medical offices and hospitals within the territory.

  • Participate in medical meetings, conferences, and professional events as required.

  • Manage territory logistics, scheduling, and reporting activities.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university required.

  • Preferred fields include business, life sciences, or clinical disciplines.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare sales experience.

  • At least 1 year of oncology sales experience with understanding of integrated oncology networks.

  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

  • Established territory management experience preferred.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of oncology disease states and clinical product positioning.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with healthcare professionals.

  • Ability to analyze sales data and implement strategic initiatives.

  • Ability to travel frequently within the territory, including occasional overnight travel.

Work Environment and Expectations

  • Standard work schedule of approximately 40 hours per week, including potential weekend medical meetings.
