Position Overview

Join Pediatric Associates as a Patient Access Representative in Poughkeepsie, NY, and become a key part of a team dedicated to providing outstanding pediatric care. In this role, you’ll ensure a smooth patient experience by managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, and addressing patient concerns with professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer calls promptly, professionally, and courteously
  • Gather patient demographic data and document it accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Schedule appointments and confirm details such as date, time, location, and provider
  • Direct callers to the appropriate department or manager as necessary
  • Perform patient outreach for missed or upcoming visits
  • Monitor and process voicemails and prescription lines
  • Assist with immunization records and document requests
  • Review daily schedules to ensure accuracy in provider appointments and documentation

Performance Requirements

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and callers
  • Demonstrate proficiency in basic computer skills
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a healthcare environment
  • Ability to handle challenging interactions with composure
  • Multilingual candidates preferred but not required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous healthcare customer service or clerical experience preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable with multitasking and fast-paced environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed
  • Lift and carry up to 15 lbs
