Position Overview

The Pharmacy Projects Specialist serves as a high-level individual contributor and primary point of contact for health system client accounts. This role ensures seamless implementation of pharmacy initiatives, supports customer requests, and provides expert reporting and data analysis. The specialist is responsible for identifying and resolving issues related to contracts, pricing, account setup, and delivery, while supporting customer savings programs and operational efficiencies.

Location: Remote, supporting Pittsburgh, PA area clients (occasional travel may be required)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM ET (flexible based on business needs)


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client issue resolution, including contracts, pricing, account setup, and credits.

  • Utilize internal support resources and escalate issues to ensure end-to-end resolution.

  • Provide expert guidance and training on the Cencora ordering platform.

  • Generate and analyze reports for client initiatives, including allocation tracking, backorders, contract compliance, and 340B savings.

  • Partner with internal teams and client representatives to achieve business goals and timelines.

  • Participate in projects aimed at customer savings, contract optimization, and inventory optimization.

  • Maintain compliance with service agreements and company policies.

  • Schedule client meetings, provide progress updates, and ensure successful project delivery.

  • Assist internal teams in understanding client-specific nuances to drive alignment and retention strategies.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, supply chain, healthcare, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years in pharmacy operations, healthcare finance, or pharmaceutical purchasing. Pharmacy technician certification and/or experience as a pharmaceutical buyer is highly preferred.

  • Skills & Knowledge:

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Customer service excellence with ability to build long-term relationships.

    • Analytical, process-oriented, and detail-focused mindset.

    • Project management and strategic planning capabilities.

    • Ability to collaborate across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.

    • Effective time management and ability to schedule client appointments efficiently.
