Position Summary
Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Programmer (Spotfire / Power BI) to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced clinical data visualization and reporting solutions. The role is responsible for transforming complex clinical trial data into meaningful dashboards, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that support study oversight, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in clinical trial data, data visualization platforms such as TIBCO Spotfire and Microsoft Power BI, along with strong programming, analytics, and stakeholder management capabilities.
As a principal-level contributor, the individual will provide technical leadership, drive innovation, mentor teams, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Clinical Operations, Data Management, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs, and Sponsors.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Data Visualization & Analytics
Design, develop, and maintain interactive clinical dashboards using:
TIBCO Spotfire
Microsoft Power BI
Related visualization and reporting technologies
Create real-time and near-real-time reporting solutions for clinical studies.
Transform clinical trial data into actionable insights through advanced visual analytics.
Develop custom visualizations, KPIs, metrics, and performance tracking dashboards.
Data Integration & Reporting
Integrate data from multiple clinical systems, including:
EDC Platforms
CTMS
Safety Databases
Clinical Data Warehouses
Operational Data Sources
Develop automated reporting processes and reusable dashboard frameworks.
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting environments.
Perform data validation and quality control activities.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Spotfire and Power BI solutions.
Establish best practices, standards, and governance for clinical reporting and analytics.
Provide technical oversight for dashboard development projects.
Lead troubleshooting, performance optimization, and enhancement initiatives.
Drive adoption of innovative analytics technologies and methodologies.

Conduct technical training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
Review team deliverables and provide constructive feedback.
