Job Overview

ICON plc is seeking an experienced Principal Scientist with strong expertise in LCMS, LCMSMS, Hybrid Mass Spectrometry, and Large Molecule Analysis to join its scientific research team in Whitesboro, New York.

This role focuses on advanced bioanalytical and mass spectrometry-based research activities supporting clinical and pharmaceutical development programs. The selected candidate will contribute to scientific innovation, analytical workflow optimization, client collaboration, and study data interpretation while working in a highly regulated laboratory environment.

The position is ideal for professionals with deep experience in large molecule bioanalysis, protein sequencing, LC-MS/MS instrumentation, and analytical sciences.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific Research & Bioanalytical Analysis

  • Perform advanced scientific and analytical activities within the LCMS laboratory environment.
  • Support large molecule and hybrid mass spectrometry research programs.
  • Analyze and interpret complex bioanalytical and mass spectrometry data.
  • Summarize scientific study findings and support reporting activities.

LCMS & Mass Spectrometry Operations

  • Work extensively with:
    • LCMS systems
    • LCMSMS instrumentation
    • Hybrid mass spectrometry platforms
    • Protein sequencing technologies
  • Utilize analytical software tools such as:
    • Skyline
    • In-silico sequencing software
    • Other protein analysis platforms
  • Support workflow optimization and scientific process improvements.

Project Coordination & Client Communication

  • Collaborate with project managers to:
    • Prepare project timelines
    • Track deliverables
    • Ensure timely completion of analytical tasks
  • Provide study updates and scientific insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, scientific discussions, and project reviews.

Scientific Publications & Innovation

  • Prepare scientific publications and research documentation.
