Principal Statistical Programmer – Remote (India)
Job Summary:
Syneos Health is hiring a Principal Statistical Programmer to provide advanced statistical programming leadership across clinical trial studies. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work on global Phase I–IV studies, lead the development of complex datasets, and directly impact drug development outcomes. Ideal for professionals with strong SAS, R, or Python skills and extensive experience in pharma or CRO environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, validate, and maintain statistical programs for analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings
Lead statistical programming activities and standards across assigned studies
Collaborate with statisticians and cross-functional teams to fulfill programming needs
Source, organize, and interpret complex clinical data with strong programming accuracy
Evaluate current processes and implement enhancements for efficiency and quality
Mentor and guide junior programmers; review code to ensure quality and consistency
Contribute to regulatory submissions by producing compliant datasets and outputs
Stay current on new technologies, tools, and trends in statistical programming
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline
8+ years of experience in statistical programming in a clinical research or pharma setting
Expertise in SAS, R, or Python for statistical analysis
Strong understanding of clinical trial data structures, CDISC standards, and SDTM/ADaM
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA) and GCP standards
Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
Certifications (Preferred):
SAS Certified Advanced Programmer for SAS 9 or equivalent certification
