Job Overview

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Regional Medical Advisor to strengthen its Medical Affairs and Medical Education function in Bangalore. This role is ideal for a medical professional with a strong scientific background and hands-on experience in Medical Affairs who is motivated to influence clinical practice, medical strategy, and patient outcomes. The position plays a critical role in translating national medical strategy into impactful regional execution while serving as a trusted scientific partner to healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Medical Strategy & Execution

  • Implement national and regional Medical Affairs strategies by translating them into effective local medical plans, activities, and timelines.

  • Ensure alignment of regional initiatives with overall therapeutic and organizational objectives.

Scientific Engagement & KOL Management

  • Build, maintain, and expand strong scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, diabetes specialists, and relevant healthcare stakeholders.

  • Facilitate high-quality scientific exchange to support evidence-based use of Novo Nordisk products.

Clinical Insights & Medical Intelligence

  • Attend medical congresses, scientific meetings, and HCP interactions to gather insights on clinical practice trends, unmet needs, and competitive landscape.

  • Analyze and communicate actionable insights to cross-functional internal teams in a timely manner.

Medical Education & Training

  • Design and deliver scientific education programs for healthcare professionals, internal field teams, and marketing colleagues.

  • Ensure consistent and compliant dissemination of clinical data and product knowledge.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with commercial, marketing, and sales teams to support product strategy, positioning, and lifecycle planning.

  • Provide medical input on promotional materials, clinical data interpretation, and therapeutic positioning.

Compliance & Governance

  • Conduct all activities in strict adherence to local regulations, internal policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Act as a role model for scientific integrity and responsible medical engagement.


Experience Required

  • Education: MD or MBBS from a recognized medical institution.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Education, or a similar medical function within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

  • Therapeutic Expertise: Strong understanding of diabetes and metabolic disorders, including the ability to interpret and communicate clinical trial data and treatment guidelines.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven experience in engaging with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders in a scientific and compliant manner.

  • Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and planning skills, with the ability to translate scientific evidence into practical medical actions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Regional Medical Advisor.

  • Hands-on experience with diabetes or endocrinology-focused portfolios.
