Research Nurse I – Clinical Trials

Job Summary

Fortrea, a leading global Contract Research Organization (CRO), is hiring a Research Nurse I to support its Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in Daytona Beach, FL. This full-time, clinic-based role involves executing and managing early-phase clinical trials for top pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device firms. Ideal for registered nurses passionate about patient care and clinical research, this role offers a hands-on opportunity to engage with cutting-edge medical innovations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-standard clinical care and manage participant safety during trials.

  • Observe and document participant well-being and adverse events.

  • Obtain Informed Consent and provide thorough participant education.

  • Administer investigational compounds, including parenteral medications, per protocol.

  • Perform clinical procedures: cannulation, telemetry, holters, vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture.

  • Collect and process biological samples per protocol and SOPs.

  • Accurately record data into Case Report Forms in compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies following nursing protocols.

  • Execute additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth trial operations.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with active state licensure.

  • Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of education.

  • CPR/AED certified; ACLS certification preferred.

  • 2–3 years of nursing experience, ideally in a fast-paced clinical setting.

  • Strong adaptability to changing priorities and multitasking demands.

  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable with technology-driven, electronic data capture systems.
