Job Summary
Fortrea, a leading global Contract Research Organization (CRO), is hiring a Research Nurse I to support its Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in Daytona Beach, FL. This full-time, clinic-based role involves executing and managing early-phase clinical trials for top pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device firms. Ideal for registered nurses passionate about patient care and clinical research, this role offers a hands-on opportunity to engage with cutting-edge medical innovations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-standard clinical care and manage participant safety during trials.
Observe and document participant well-being and adverse events.
Obtain Informed Consent and provide thorough participant education.
Administer investigational compounds, including parenteral medications, per protocol.
Perform clinical procedures: cannulation, telemetry, holters, vital signs, ECGs, venipuncture.
Collect and process biological samples per protocol and SOPs.
Accurately record data into Case Report Forms in compliance with regulatory standards.
Respond appropriately to clinical emergencies following nursing protocols.
Execute additional duties as assigned to ensure smooth trial operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with active state licensure.
Equivalent relevant experience considered in lieu of education.
CPR/AED certified; ACLS certification preferred.
2–3 years of nursing experience, ideally in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Strong adaptability to changing priorities and multitasking demands.
Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable with technology-driven, electronic data capture systems.
