🎯 Job Overview:

Fortrea, one of the largest Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) globally, operates Early Phase Clinical Research Units in the UK and US.

The Research Technician will support the Clinical Pharmacology Start-up team in initiating Early Phase clinical trials efficiently and accurately. This role involves direct participant interaction, execution of clinical procedures, and maintenance of study environment standards.

This is a full-time, rotating shift, office-based position. Multiple positions are available.


💼 Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Clinical Procedures & Participant Care

  • Accurately perform vitals: blood pressure, weight, pulse, respiratory rate, and temperature.

  • Prepare and accurately record ECGs/Holters.

  • Collect and process biological samples as per protocol; ensure proper distribution.

  • Monitor participant dietary compliance during studies.

  • Assist in preparation of rooms and medical equipment.

  • Support screening procedures as required.

  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations during trials.

🔹 Study Environment & Operations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.

  • Ensure compliance with protocols, SOPs, and GCP standards.

  • Undertake other duties as required by management.


🎓 Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Preferred Certifications: EMT, Phlebotomy, CMA, or CNA.

  • Fortrea may consider equivalent experience in lieu of formal education.

  • Experience: 0–1 year of clinical research experience. Previous clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory; open to recent graduates.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in laboratory and/or clinical environments.

  • Exposure to biological fluids and electrical office equipment.

  • Occasional driving to site locations and domestic travel.

  • Personal protective equipment (eyewear, garments, gloves) required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Upright and/or stationary position for 6–8 hours/day.

  • Repetitive hand movement for operating lab equipment.

  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending, and twisting.

  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 15–20 lbs.

  • Regular and consistent attendance required.
