Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Scientific Support Specialist I – Glasswash to support laboratory operations through glassware cleaning, sterilization, lab logistics, chemical inventory support, and scientific lab assistance. This is an entry-level laboratory support role focused on maintaining lab efficiency, compliance, and operational readiness.


Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Support Operations

  • Perform routine laboratory support tasks across multiple functions.

  • Collect, distribute, and manage laboratory glassware.

  • Perform glassware washing, cleaning, and sterilization.

  • Ensure laboratory cleanliness and compliance with safety standards.

  • Support dry ice delivery and lab material distribution.

  • Assist with chemical inventory management.

  • Support scientific lab activities such as buffer preparation.

  • Maintain proper stock and supply availability for lab operations.

Logistics & Operational Support

  • Operate a box truck for local deliveries and pickups.

  • Support lab logistics and transportation needs.

  • Handle other assigned operational support tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Required Experience

  • 0–1 year of laboratory experience

  • Experience using:

    • Tunnel Washers

    • Miele Washers

    • Glassware drying systems

Additional requirement:

  • 1+ year experience operating a box truck or similar vehicle

  • No CDL required
