Role Overview

Clarivate is seeking a Senior STEM Content Analyst (Biochemistry) to join its Systems Biology team, supporting the globally recognized MetaBase database, which powers multiple Clarivate products and analytics solutions. This role plays a critical part in biochemical data curation, drug metabolism analysis, molecular interaction annotation, and scientific content validation, contributing directly to drug discovery, biomarker identification, and network biology initiatives.

You will collaborate with a diverse, international team of subject-matter experts across India and Europe, applying deep scientific expertise to ensure data accuracy, usability, and innovation across Clarivate’s life sciences platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth analysis of scientific literature to determine drug metabolism pathways, biochemical activity, and pharmacological mechanisms.

  • Curate and annotate molecular interactions, metabolic pathways, and drug development data, including chemical structure indexing and compound categorization.

  • Serve as a senior biochemistry subject-matter expert, mentoring and guiding junior analysts on scientific interpretation and best practices.

  • Collaborate with the Principal STEM Content Specialist to resolve subject-matter, quality, and production-related challenges.

  • Review and validate internal and external scientific contributions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with editorial standards.

  • Support and optimize automated workflows across Systems Biology processes, with a focus on biochemistry-driven datasets.

  • Utilize SQL queries to identify, audit, and correct database inconsistencies in alignment with editorial policies.

  • Continuously update domain knowledge and stay current with emerging trends in biochemistry, pharmacology, and systems biology.


Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related Life Sciences discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in biochemistry research, scientific content analysis, systems biology, or related life sciences roles.


Core Skills & Expertise

  • Strong foundation in biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and basic pathology concepts.

  • Hands-on or research experience in drug metabolism, cell pharmacology, or drug toxicology (preferred).

  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize complex scientific data with high attention to detail.

  • Excellent scientific writing, documentation, and communication skills in English.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to rapidly learn new scientific and database tools.


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working with biological or chemical databases and relational data models.

  • Exposure to Artificial Intelligence tools at a user or prompt-engineering level.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, R, and/or Python.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage workloads, and work independently.

  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary, international teams.
