Role Description
As a SDS Author, you will be responsible for ensuring that the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, while being accurate and up-to-date globally.

  • Accurately interpret and convey information contained in the SDS, ensuring all relevant data is included.

  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and other external stakeholders.

  • Have a good understanding of the company’s product line and the hazards associated with each product.

  • Work independently while also collaborating with the team.

  • Take proactive decisions and make strategic moves to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Postgraduate degree in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Biotechnology.

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in the life sciences field (preferably with knowledge of GHS, CLP).

Technical Skills / Competencies

  • Chemistry Knowledge: Basic proficiency, including an understanding of functional groups and structures. Ability to judge hazards based on structures and functional groups.

  • SAP User Knowledge: Limited proficiency in navigating different screens/transactions and creating specifications.

  • Global Chemical Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with SDS, hazards, and chemical regulations (e.g., GHS, CLP). Knowledge of digital tools and advanced Excel.

  • Process Improvements: Key skills in process improvements and Kaizen ideas.

  • Project Leadership: Ability to lead projects and drive outcomes.

Behavioral Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving ability, planning and execution skills, customer orientation, business acumen, impactful communication, and decision-making abilities.
