Position Overview
Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join its Technology & Data Solutions (TDS) business unit in Hyderabad (hybrid model). This role plays a critical part in delivering advanced data science solutions, driving innovation, and transforming complex healthcare and life sciences data into actionable business insights.
The Senior Data Scientist will work closely with product, technology, and business stakeholders to design scalable analytics solutions that support enterprise decision-making and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement advanced data science models, algorithms, and analytical frameworks to process structured and unstructured big data.
Consolidate, cleanse, integrate, and analyze large datasets from diverse internal and external data sources.
Collaborate with product, service, and business teams to identify analytical opportunities, define problem statements, and deliver data-driven solutions.
Develop, document, and maintain reusable templates, standard operating procedures, code repositories, and analytical assets.
Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and exploratory data analysis techniques to generate insights and support product enhancement.
Interpret, visualize, and communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Manage configuration, curation, and cataloging of internal and external data assets and always-on data vendors to ensure timely innovation and delivery.
Contribute thought leadership and innovative approaches to support enterprise objectives and long-term data strategy.
Work on complex, ambiguous problems requiring advanced analytical judgment and evaluation of non-quantifiable factors.
Mentor, coach, and guide junior data scientists and analysts, fostering technical excellence and best practices across the team.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field) is required; PhD preferred.
6–10 years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, or applied machine learning roles.
Strong proficiency in Python and/or R, with hands-on experience in SQL and relational databases.
Solid foundation in statistics, data modeling, and machine learning methodologies.
Proven experience designing and deploying end-to-end data science solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of the data science model development lifecycle.
Experience working in healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or B2B/B2C marketing analytics is highly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, including interaction with senior management.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
