Role Overview
The Validation Analyst will be responsible for software testing, data validation, and quality assurance across clinical and data-driven applications. The role requires strong expertise in SQL, ETL/data warehouse systems, and software testing methodologies, with exposure to clinical or pharmaceutical software environments being preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Testing & Validation
Design and execute test cases based on requirements and validation protocols
Perform:
Smoke Testing
Integration Testing
System Testing
Regression Testing
Create and maintain validation documentation
Execute manual test scripts for application quality and functionality
Retest applications after issue resolution
2. Data Validation & SQL Work
Write complex SQL queries for data validation and quality checks
Identify and troubleshoot data quality issues
Work with PL/SQL, SQL tuning, and scenario-based data testing
Develop and use test data sets
3. Data & Technology Exposure
Work with Data Warehouses, ETL pipelines, and Data Lakes
Exposure to Big Data environments (on-premise and cloud)
Experience with SAS and Python (preferred)
Exposure to PySpark (preferred)
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau / Power BI preferred)
4. Tools & Project Management
Use ALM tools such as:
JIRA
TFS / Azure DevOps
Confluence
Work in Agile environments including:
Scrum
Kanban
Iterative SDLC models
5. Collaboration & Reporting
Work closely with developers and business teams to resolve issues
Track software versions, bugs, and validation efforts
Report anomalies and testing outcomes
Maintain documentation and communication logs
6. Product & Lifecycle Support
Participate in testing of new product features and releases
Conduct post-production and regression testing
Support Clinical Services tools and applications
7. Continuous Improvement
Improve test coverage and effectiveness
Follow SOPs and regulatory requirements
Participate in training, workshops, and professional development
Stay updated with industry and regulatory changes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
4–6 years of experience in Software Quality Testing / QA
Strong experience in SQL and data validation
Solid understanding of SDLC and testing methodologies
Experience working with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Technical Skills Required
SQL / PL-SQL (strong proficiency)
Data validation & data quality concepts
ETL / Data Warehouse understanding
JIRA, TFS/Azure DevOps, Confluence
Manual testing techniques and test case design
Preferred Skills
Experience in pharmaceutical or clinical data systems
Python programming
SAS applications
PySpark / Big Data tools
Cloud-based testing experience
