Analytical Lab Supervisor – 3rd Shift | Abbott, Columbus, OH

Job Summary

Abbott, a global leader in healthcare and nutritional science, is hiring an Analytical Lab Supervisor for its state-of-the-art facility in Columbus, Ohio. This role offers an excellent opportunity to manage analytical and QA laboratory operations, ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance in a high-performance manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate shift team activities to meet KPIs in Quality, EHS, Finance, Productivity, and People.

  • Oversee product quality, manage lab operations, and ensure analytical test compliance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support cost efficiency measures.

  • Supervise and develop lab personnel through mentoring, training, and performance reviews.

  • Interface with Division QA, R&D, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing teams.

  • Ensure all CAPA activities, test methods, and analytical guidelines are followed rigorously.

  • Lead problem-solving activities for laboratory and product issues.

  • Promote strong EHS culture and compliance during audits and risk assessments.

  • Organize and execute lab schedules aligned with production priorities.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Food Technology, or a related technical field.

  • 2–4 years of laboratory experience in regulated industries (pharma, food, medical devices, cosmetics).

  • Strong understanding of analytical testing procedures and QA systems.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Knowledge of EHS compliance and risk management principles.


Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in infant formula manufacturing laboratories.

  • Familiarity with project planning and execution tools.
