Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 25–30 certified coders

  • Oversee orientation, training, and ensure a compliant work environment

  • Manage performance across timeliness, quality, and productivity metrics

  • Coach and develop staff through feedback, policy enforcement, and performance appraisals

  • Analyze and resolve quality/customer service issues; recommend improvements

  • Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and networking

  • Enhance team engagement and retention by aligning work with skills, vision sharing, and regular feedback

  • Adhere to company policies, and be flexible to business-driven changes in location, team, shift, or work arrangements


Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate in any discipline

  • Certified coder from AAPC or AHIMA

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Team Leader or Assistant Manager

  • Experience managing a team of at least 15 members

  • Background in medical coding only

  • Strong performance and quality management, coaching, and supervisory skills

  • Ability to handle pressure and drive teamwork

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to use standard office equipment
