Role Overview

Indegene is seeking an experienced Associate Manager – Scientific Writing to lead and deliver end-to-end publication and scientific communication activities. This role requires deep expertise in publication planning, complex manuscript development, regulatory compliance, and client-facing medical writing. The position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and direct interaction with global clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end publication management, including publication strategy, planning, and execution

  • Develop and review complex scientific content such as abstracts, manuscripts, posters, oral presentations, and slide decks using data from clinical study reports, protocols, and other scientific sources

  • Create and review medical slide decks, scientific communication platforms, plain language summaries (PLS), and infographics

  • Ensure all deliverables are scientifically accurate, medically relevant, brand-compliant, and delivered within defined timelines

  • Define client requirements during project kick-off, including SLAs and turnaround times

  • Perform scientific fact-checking across multiple therapeutic areas using current and credible references

  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations, publication guidelines, and ethical standards

  • Manage and deliver ad hoc client requests within agreed timelines

  • Coordinate with medical writing leads, project managers, graphics teams, and clients to ensure seamless project execution

  • Conduct peer reviews and mentor junior writers to meet client and quality expectations

  • Utilize proprietary publication management tools such as DataVision and PubsHub PM Solution for version control, publication timelines, workflow management, and reporting

  • Manage concurrent, sequential, and hybrid publication workflows effectively

  • Maintain clear, professional written and verbal communication with clients and authors

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 8–12 years of experience in publication writing within pharmaceutical companies or medical communications agencies

  • Demonstrated expertise in medical writing, publication coordination, and scientific communications

  • Educational background in M.Pharm, PharmD, PhD, or Life Sciences, with relevant publication experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • CMPP certification (highly desirable)

  • Strong understanding of at least one medical specialty area or broad therapeutic knowledge

  • Proven experience in client-facing roles and global publication projects
