Job Summary:
Join Amgen in a vital finance-focused role supporting Planning, Analysis, and Insights (PAI) for Clinical Trials within R&D. As a Finance Associate, you’ll assist in key processes such as financial planning, quarter-close activities, master data maintenance, and financial reporting. This position is ideal for early-career finance professionals who are looking to make an impact in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support R&D finance teams with planning, quarter-close, and financial consolidation activities

  • Manage master financial data, including cost centers, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and data alignment

  • Perform variance analysis for forecast vs. actuals across key financial accounts

  • Assist in staffing and headcount planning, and support financial system data migration

  • Enhance product coding and recovery processes to drive financial efficiency

  • Respond to ad hoc stakeholder requests with timely, accurate financial data and insights

  • Assist in centralization, automation, and standardization of financial operations

  • Collaborate with global functional and consolidation teams in financial operations


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry

  • Understanding of financial planning processes, quarter-close, and variance analysis

  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail

  • Proficient in SAP, Hyperion, Anaplan, and MS Excel

  • Ability to build financial models and reports

  • Background in Big 4 or Fortune 500 FP&A teams is a plus
