The Associate Technical Director - Clinical Trials will be responsible for building and managing a team of ~60 employees, establishing a clinical trial laboratory, and ensuring high-quality operational execution. This position requires strong leadership skills, clinical trial expertise, and experience with PCR, oligonucleotides, plasmids, and robotics.
Build and manage a team of ~60 PSS employees for a new clinical trial lab.
Provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction to ensure lab success.
Manage hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and development of employees.
Ensure smooth onboarding and training for new staff.
Establish and maintain a positive and productive work culture.
Oversee clinical trial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with financial and contractual objectives.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Monitor and improve lab performance metrics, including efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Identify and implement process improvements in collaboration with the operational excellence team.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Lead risk assessment and mitigation strategies for trial operations.
Support regulatory inspections and audits as needed.
Work with clinical trial technologies, including PCR, oligonucleotides, plasmids, and robotics.
Provide scientific guidance and oversee the implementation of advanced lab techniques.
Manage budgets, track financial performance, and ensure cost-efficiency.
Report and review performance metrics with key stakeholders.
Lead special projects and strategic initiatives to enhance lab efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in biological or related sciences (BS) with 10+ years of experience, or Advanced degree with 7+ years of experience.
5+ years of management experience in a clinical trial setting.
Strong clinical trial expertise, including regulatory and operational knowledge.
Experience with PCR, oligonucleotides, plasmids, and robotics.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Advanced degree (MS, PhD, or equivalent).
5+ years of clinical trial experience.
Vaccine testing experience.
