Cibola General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Hospital Pharmacist to join our team of compassionate caregivers. In this full-time position, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive the best possible outcomes from their medications. You will dispense prescriptions, provide valuable information about medication use, and collaborate with healthcare professionals on drug selection and dosage. The role is typically scheduled for four 10-hour shifts per week.

Pharmacist Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medications prescribed by physicians and other healthcare practitioners.
  • Ensure accuracy of orders, including medication type, dosage, and correct packaging/labels for all prescriptions and refills.
  • Educate patients on potential side effects, proper dosage, usage frequency, and any possible food or drug interactions.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal health laws, including FDA, DEA regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist non-prescription customers by interpreting symptoms and offering possible over-the-counter solutions.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of over-the-counter treatments with oral medications or topical ointments.
  • Regularly check drug stock, removing damaged or expired items, and ensuring that inventory is current.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and information.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements through continued education, including conferences, professional societies, and reading professional journals.

Pharmacist Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • PharmD or RPh from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Valid and current pharmacy license to practice.
  • Strong understanding of DEA and FDA health regulations.
  • Detail-oriented, responsible, and dependable with strong integrity.
  • Ability to manage a large workload efficiently and accurately.
  • High attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
