Job Overview

We are hiring an experienced Coder – IVR to support invoice review and medical coding operations in Chennai. This role requires strong expertise in CPT and ICD-10 coding, audit reviews, and close collaboration with billing teams to ensure accurate claim processing and timely reimbursement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and compliance with Medicare and HIPAA regulations.

This position is well-suited for certified medical coders seeking stability and growth in a structured healthcare services environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct coding audits and invoice reviews to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation

  • Assign and sequence CPT and ICD-10 codes for services rendered, as required

  • Collaborate with billing teams and system work queues to support accurate and timely claim payments

  • Ensure compliance with Medicare policies, coding initiatives, and regulatory guidelines

  • Work independently from assigned work queues while meeting quality and productivity benchmarks

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and protect patient health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards

  • Follow information security and HIPAA policies, limiting PHI access to the minimum required

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and provide effective support to internal stakeholders

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management


Required Qualifications

  • Active CPC certification from AAPC or CCS certification from AHIMA

  • High School Graduate or equivalent (Graduate degree preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant medical coding experience (IP DRG, OP, SDS, Denials, or related specialties)

  • Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and applicable coding guidelines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Experience using job-related coding and billing software

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

  • High level of integrity, accountability, and results orientation


Preferred Skills

  • Surgical coding experience

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels


Work Environment

  • Office-based role with minimal noise levels

  • Requires ability to sit for extended periods and perform routine office tasks

  • Role involves focused analytical work with collaboration across teams
