Job Title: Claims Call Center Specialist

Company Overview

Join our expanding insurance company as a Claims Call Center Specialist! In this role, you'll play a crucial part in handling initial reports of losses and guiding our customers through the claims process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Claims Intake: Accurately record accident details provided by insured individuals or claimants.
  • Coverage Verification: Confirm coverage details, identify potential issues, and refer insureds and claimants for estimates. Route calls to the appropriate claims units based on the reported loss information.
  • Customer Assistance: Support adjusters by directing customers through the claims process and addressing claims-related inquiries.
  • Policy Knowledge: Develop a basic understanding of insurance policies to answer policy-related questions related to losses.
  • Call Management: Maintain call volume in line with unit objectives and assist with various ongoing unit responsibilities, such as handling unmatched mail, processing tow bills, ordering police reports, and mailing claim checks.
  • Special Projects: Work on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Excellent phone communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficient typing/data entry skills (minimum 30 wpm).
    • Good PC skills.
  • Preferred:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Previous customer service experience.
    • Insurance experience is a plus.
