Job Summary:
Novartis is seeking a results-driven Expert in Science and Technology (Oral Solids Formulation Development) to lead lab and plant-level activities for oral solid dosage forms. You will be responsible for planning and executing formulation development experiments, managing tech transfers, ensuring GMP compliance, and contributing to the global drug development pipeline. Key Responsibilities:
Design, perform, interpret, and report scientific experiments for drug product (DP) development
Support lab/plant scale-up, including troubleshooting and process control
Develop and optimize lab workflows, SOPs, and instructions
Coordinate data evaluation, documentation, and technical reporting
Support GMP compliance, training, and infrastructure maintenance
Ensure adherence to HSE and quality standards for all project activities
Participate in cross-functional teams and collaborate on pilot plant transfers
Maintain accurate records of chemicals, intermediates, and excipients
Contribute to strategic improvements in process efficiency and compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
B.Pharm or M.Pharm with 3–8 years of relevant pharmaceutical R&D experience
Proven ability to safely handle chemicals and lab equipment
Working knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and drug development regulations
Familiarity with lab instrumentation and formulation technologies
Proficient in scientific/technical writing and reporting
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience working in interdisciplinary and multicultural environments
Adequate knowledge of technical and computer tools used in pharmaceutical R&D
