The Expert Scientific Writer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development of high-impact scientific publications and medical education materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks. The role also involves collaborating with global medical affairs teams, healthcare professionals, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), and scientific communication teams to ensure high-quality scientific content aligned with therapeutic area strategies.
This position is ideal for professionals with strong expertise in medical communications, publication planning, Good Publication Practices (GPP), and pharmaceutical scientific content development.

Job Summary
The Expert Scientific Writer will create complex scientific content independently, manage the complete publication development lifecycle, and support strategic scientific communication initiatives. This includes preparing medical education materials, scientific manuscripts, conference abstracts, posters, and slide presentations.
The role also includes reviewing and mentoring junior and senior scientific writers, ensuring high standards of scientific accuracy, compliance, and clarity. The candidate will collaborate with global stakeholders and contribute to publication planning, medical communication strategies, and therapeutic area knowledge development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop complex scientific and medical education content including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide presentations
Manage end-to-end publication development and approval workflows
Use PromoMats / iEnvision content management systems for documentation and approvals
Maintain strong therapeutic area and compliance expertise
Provide content review, coaching, and mentorship to junior and senior scientific writers
Conduct publication needs analysis and support annual publication plans
Work closely with scientific communication teams and medical departments to develop scientific deliverables
Coordinate with external vendors and partners to ensure timely delivery of publication materials
Utilize advanced training tools and methods to enhance scientific communication effectiveness
Continuously improve medical education content based on stakeholder feedback
Required Skills & Qualifications
Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, or related discipline (PhD / PharmD / MD / MSc preferred)
7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare scientific content creation
4+ years experience leading a therapeutic area (TA) or managing publication strategy
Strong knowledge of medical communications, scientific publications, and medical education content
Familiarity with Good Publication Practices (GPP) and publication submission processes
Experience using PromoMats, iEnvision, or other medical content management systems
Excellent scientific writing, editing, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders globally
Preferred Skills
