Job Overview
Sanofi is hiring an Expert Scientific Writer to lead the development of high-quality medical and publication content across therapeutic areas.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of publication and medical education materials such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and slide decks. The position also requires collaboration with global stakeholders, mentoring junior writers, and ensuring compliance with publication standards and internal processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scientific & Medical Content Development
Create complex and specialized medical/scientific content independently.
Develop publication materials including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
Manage end-to-end publication development, including documentation and approvals in tools like PromoMats/iEnvision.
Ensure content aligns with scientific accuracy, compliance, and quality standards.
2. Publication Planning & Execution
Conduct publication needs analysis with stakeholders.
Implement annual publication plans for assigned therapeutic areas.
Act as a subject matter expert in medical communication.
Support strategic publication initiatives across regions.
3. Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with global scientific communication teams and medical departments.
Interact with healthcare professionals for publication development.
Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of communication materials.
4. Team Leadership & Mentorship
Coach and review work of senior and junior scientific writers.
Support knowledge sharing and capability development within the team.
Drive best practices in scientific writing and publication processes.
5. Process & Compliance
Ensure adherence to Good Publication Practices (GPP) and internal SOPs.
Maintain expertise in therapeutic areas, compliance standards, and processes.
Work with vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver outputs as per defined workflows.
Continuously improve content and training processes based on feedback.
6. Performance & Delivery
Deliver high-quality content within agreed timelines.
Provide strategic input for publication development.
Support identification of key institutions and authors for publications.

Strong experience in medical/scientific writing within pharma, healthcare, or academia.
Expertise in publication development (manuscripts, abstracts, posters).
